The weather may still be chilly but our summer concert venues are getting ready for things to heat up.
Red Rocks
The benches at Red Rocks Amphitheatre having been holding concert-goers since1941. Needless to say, they’ve gotten a bit worn over the years. Happily, the amphitheatre is currently replacing them with brand, new ones. If you’re one of us who’s spent a wonderful evening at Red Rocks and has a nostalgic attachment, you’ll have a chance to purchase wood from the original benches. From time to time, it’s made available to the public through a City and County of Denver surplus property online auction. To find out about upcoming auctions, you can sign up on the city’s website at http://www.denvergov.org/auctions
Fiddler's Green is now Coors Amphitheater
Located in the southwest Denver metro area, it will kick off the season with Nine Inch Nails and Jane's Addiction on May 26. On May 27 it's No Doubt with Paramore. Then, July 30, Rod Stewart is coming.
That's all for today. We're off to Phoenix to check out the Arizona State University campus with our daughter Kate. We also have the pleasure of delivering Rampart baseball players extrordinaire, Zane Watkins and Miguel Ortega to a tournament. They will no doubt show everyone how it's done!
